Neva Dinova with Brett Newski & The Pretty Graves
Neva Dinova
Formed in Omaha, Nebraska in 1993 by guitarist‑vocalist Jake Bellows and bassist Heath Koontz, Neva Dinova became a key name within the vibrant Saddle Creek indie scene. Their self‑titled debut arrived in 2002 on Crank! A Record Company and was praised as a top release of that year, gaining early critical acclaim. Over the next few years, the band evolved into a five‑piece lineup including Tim Haes, Mike Kratky, and drummer Bo Anderson, later joined by longtime member Roger Lewis (also of The Good Life).
A defining moment in their career came with the 2004 split EP One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels, a collaboration with Bright Eyes in which both groups wrote and performed across six songs. That project cemented their connection with Conor Oberst and fellow Omaha acts such as Cursive, with contributions from Bright Eyes members like Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott, alongside Neva’s own Roger Lewis on drums.
After releasing You May Already Be Dreaming in 2008 and a hiatus that ended with a 2022 rarities collection (Demos and C‑Sides), Neva Dinova returned in full in 2024 with their album Canary, their first LP in 16 years. The current lineup features Bellows, Roger Lewis, and Megan Siebe (of Cursive and Simon Joyner & the Ghosts), and their return included touring with Cursive and joint appearances connected to Bright Eyes and the wider Saddle Creek community. Canary features singles like “Edge of Something”, “Lonely Heart” (with Siebe on lead vocals), and “Something’s Out There”, capturing the band’s signature blend of indie-rock, folk, psychedelia, and country-tinged moody textures.
Brett Newski
Brett Newski is a Milwaukee-based singer-songwriter, guitarist, illustrator, podcaster, and author, known for his energetic blend of 90s‑inspired alternative rock, alt‑country, and folk‑punk. His music has drawn praise from outlets including Rolling Stone, NPR, American Songwriter, SiriusXM, Boston Globe, Billboard, SPIN and Paste.
Over his career, Newski has toured as a supporting act or performed alongside major names such as the Violent Femmes, Pixies, Nada Surf, Guster, Gin Blossoms, Better Than Ezra, Barenaked Ladies, Manchester Orchestra, New Pornographers, Courtney Barnett, Japanese Breakfast, and Built to Spill.
The Pretty Graves
The Pretty Graves are an underground art‑rock quartet based in Connecticut, drawing creative fuel from seminal acts such as The Velvet Underground, Pavement, Elliott Smith, and Jonathan Fire Eater. Their music blends raw emotional intensity, enigmatic lyricism, and kinetic energy - creating a distinct presence in the Connecticut music scene that has garnered attention for its authenticity and depth.

LUNG / A Former Friend / Carrie Nation & The Speakeasy
If we’re throwing a Sunday show, you know it’ll be a good one. Two outstanding bands on tour joining our friends, A Former Friend, for a great night of music. Note the early start time: doors at 7pm, show at 8pm.
LUNG is a daring duo from Cincinnati wielding electric cello and thunderous drums to create a sound both fierce and ethereal. With Kate Wakefield’s classically trained voice and cello drenched in distortion pedals and amps, paired with drummer Daisy Caplan’s earthquaking rhythms, their intensity is unmatched. Since forming in 2016, they’ve racked up over 800 shows across North America and Europe, sharing stages with acts like The Jesus Lizard and Screaming Females. Described as “loud, dissonant, innovative, and fearless,” their evolving, genre-defying form continues to push boundaries.
A Former Friend is a deeply introspective Americana-Gothic project, born in Arizona, raised in Kentucky, and now rooted in New England. Their songwriting taps into the storied tradition of American balladeering—reflective, haunting, and steeped in poetic truth. Often described as an American troubadour pondering life, labor, and love in the age of the apocalypse, this act brings an evocative and stirring presence to the stage.
Carrie Nation & the Speakeasy is a high-energy “Brass ’n’ Grass” sextet with roots in punk, bluegrass, and Dixieland—crafted into a relentless, rollicking sound. Based in Wichita since 2007, their live shows are dynamic and ever-changing, fueled by mandolin, trombone, trumpet, washboard, banjo, stand-up bass, and compelling songwriting that goes beyond whiskey-infused fun to tackle themes of social satire, labor, existential journeys, and more. Their sound—often dubbed “a stagecoach in overdrive”—blends controlled chaos with soulful storytelling.
7pm doors / 8pm show / $10 (cash or credit)

Slyne & The Family Stoned LP Release Party w/ Missed Cues
Slyne & the Family Stoned are an unforgettable fixture in the New London music scene—equal parts punk, psychedelia, noise, and communal spirit.
Hailing from New London, CT, they are a vibrant, genre-defying collective of punks, freaks, lovers, and misfits—bound together by a shared passion for musical adventure. Led by Michael Slyne, the band fuses punk energy, improvisational noise, droning psychedelia, and soulful melodies.
Their incredible live sets are chaotic and meditative all at once. Expect a wild ride through noise, melody, and message. They celebrate the release of their new LP release, The Future Is A Valley. Vinyl copies will be available at the show.
Anchored in college rock, indie, and punk traditions, Missed Cues’ sound is marked by lo-fi textures, chugging power chords, and catchy vocal hooks, drawing clear comparisons to Connecticut’s punk lineage (see: Towers Of New London compilations). The title track of their debut record, in particular, conjures old-school garage-rock with bold, pleading vocals and bright guitar riffs that immediately engage.

The Pretty Graves with Thirst Trap
The Pretty Graves are an underground art‑rock quartet based in Connecticut, drawing creative fuel from seminal acts such as The Velvet Underground, Pavement, Elliott Smith, and Jonathan Fire Eater. Their music blends raw emotional intensity, enigmatic lyricism, and kinetic energy - creating a distinct presence in the Connecticut music scene that has garnered attention for its authenticity and depth.
Thirst Trap is a genre-blurring rock quartet hailing from New London, Connecticut. Featuring Sophie Walsh (guitar), Bob Bourne (bass), Matt Potter (guitar), and Liz Larson Spurr (drums), they formed through local jam sessions that quickly grew into a cohesive project. The band describes their sound with playful self-awareness as “Brat Metal” — raw, energetic, and unafraid to push boundaries.

Nova One with A Former Friend
NOVA ONE makes lush, dreamy music that celebrates and centers vulnerability, self-love, self-expression, and queer futurity. This Providence-based band performs songs from their newest LP, create myself (Community Records), celebrating self-acceptance, becoming, and inviting each of us to find our own voices and see ourselves with compassion and love.
With a sound that was born in Arizona & raised in Kentucky, A FORMER FRIEND uses the grand tradition of American songwriting to speak truth to power, regularly accompanied by a full band featuring guitar, piano, mandolin, violin, flute, bass, drums and vocal harmonies.

Fimone with The Pneumatics
FIMONE
Born from a lightning bolt in rural Minnesota, Fimone began crafting original music at 16, guided by their first Fender. Overcoming small-town challenges and struggles with addiction, she forged a unique sound in Nashville, blending country, blues, and rock. With 10+ years as an independent artist, she’s toured the U.S. and Europe, collaborated with Grammy winners, and earned acclaim with their self-directed music video “Fire,” which won the Audience Award at Indie Memphis Film Festival.
The lead singles from Fascination – "Will" and "The Guide" – received support from country music industry leaders CMT, ACM, and CMA. The music video for "Will" rotated on CMT Music, and the visualizer for "The Guide" premiered with All Country Music. The project was further covered by Rainbow Rodeo. AntiMusic and News Is Out, topped off with a interview with WKRN Channel 2's Local on 2.
Fimone’s powerful live performances and evocative songwriting have gained her spots on Lightning 100, WWLTV, WWOZ New Orleans, PBS On Stage Twin Cities, The Daily Yonder, and Connect LGBTQ magazine. An advocate for social justice, she draws comparisons to Brandi Carlile and Alabama Shakes. With skills as a producer, songwriter, and director, Fimone is a true renaissance artist in today’s vibrant creative scene.

Terror Pigeon returns to New London!
Costumes. Pillow fights. Parachute games. Stuffed animals. Black lights. Dance parties in the street.
No, this isn’t the best sleepover ever. This is Terror Pigeon, the indie dance project of Nashville, TN’s Neil Fridd. Terror Pigeon has put on some of the most memorable shows in the history of the Oasis. Picture it, dance songs about friendship in front of a DIY stage set (inflatables sometimes included), with costumes for everyone to dress up in, strobing light rigs that are actually attached to the audience, a parachute game that ends in a dance party under said parachute… it’s a moment in time to let everything go and just fucking party.
Come to think of it, this is basically the best sleepover ever. You just won’t want to sleep.
“The Nashville weirdo party collective (formerly known as Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt!) sent us their forthcoming album Live It Up Before You Die It Up! We listened to their song “Girl” and instantly replayed it 1,400 times in a row. It is so goddamn catchy and anthemic, but with absolutely no song structure whatsoever. It sounds like they snipped out pieces of eight different half-finished songs and mashed them all together until they kinda fit (but not really). So prepare to go through a wide range of emotions on “Girl,” all of which wind down to one ultimate conclusion: party.” -Noisey/Vice Magazine
$10 cover. 21+. Starts at 9pm.

Bad Movie Night: The Guy From Harlem
Bad Movie Night takes place every Wednesday here at the Oasis. 8pm start. A $5 service fee gets added to your bill to assist in buying the rights for the movie. Happy hour from 7-9pm.
Who’s the black private dick / That’s a sex machine to all the chicks? Well, that would have to be The Guy From Harlem, a bizarre blaxploitation effort that features some of the poorest production i’ve seen outside of a Bloody Nightmares film. This one really has it all: a director lacking a rudimentary knowledge of storytelling, retina-burning 70s decor, actors who wouldn’t cut it in community theatre, and the fight scenes.. wow, the fight scenes. Despite these (obvious, glaring) flaws, for those in the right state of mind – and an appreciation for the goodness of badness – there is plenty to enjoy here. The Guy From Harlem is shit, but it’s deliriously entertaining shit. -No Budget Nightmares

James Burke / Brian Ember / WEAREBISON
JAMES BURKE is a Synthpop/Electronica artist from New London Connecticut. He previously perused a Rock-n-Roll career in acts such as Slander and Anderson Family Picnic before changing paths towards political activism and becoming a father. These days he's taken an army of synths and drum machines on a mission to get people to dance at shows again.

BRIAN EMBER does whatever the fuck he wants. As it turns out, that just means he's singing a lot and writing string quartets and pop records. Frustratingly self-aware at how not dangerous he is, he makes up for it with the occassional swear word.
https://brianember.com/
WEAREBISON is the rhythmic-driven, electronic project of producer Jenn Dauphinais & guest collaborators. Dauphinais plays regionally as both an acoustic singer-songwriter and experimental electronic artist. The music is prismatic, electronic, and provocative, incorporating elements of hip-hop, psych rock, & goth.

SLYNE & THE FAMILY STONED
slyne leads a group of punks and freaks and lovers and misfits
they try and make a glorious racket
SHIRESE
Shirese is the brainchild of Matt Paolillo and Jack Gumkowski. The band has undergone a few changes over the years but has truly meshed in recent times with Bill Davidge, Nicholas Serrambana, Logan Carr and Seany Nuelle in the lineup.
Shirese takes cues from their New Haven contemporaries, but their brand of psychedelia is more directly inspired by the late 60s garage bands who moved into unchartered waters. Far more dedicated to the song than, say, Headroom, but with plenty of eerie and swirling lysergic moments nonetheless. The band doesn’t shy away from the spoken word either, with word-salad-stream-of-conscious poetics given as much real estate as catchy melodies.
Shirese also allow their most experimental tendencies to roam free while never losing sight of what they are; a rock band. Out of phase tape manipulation and harsh noise find their places on the record, and why wouldn’t they, given Paolillo and Nuelle’s heavy roots in that arena. But somehow they always find their way back to the true core of Shirese - hard rocking on their own goddamn terms.
MOUNTAIN MOVERS
Watching the Mountain Movers' progression over the course of the past decade has truly been a treat. Their earliest beginnings saw the band documenting Dan Greene’s vast catalog of songs, while displaying a rotating cast of New Haven musicians’ unique skills. The band produced three albums and several singles of polished indie rock in this incarnation.
However, their fourth album, 2010’s Apple Mountain, saw the band transition to stranger territory; home-recorded and employing an arsenal of miscellaneous instruments, the record bore a folk-psychedelic element not displayed on their previous work. Shortly after Apple Mountain, constant members Greene and Rick Omonte were joined by lead guitarist Kryssi Battalene and drummer Ross Menze to form, what is now, the band's longest running lineup. The band has since produced a series of singles, lathe-cuts, cassettes, 2015’s Death Magic; an album that melded Greene’s song writing with the bands ability to stretch out and improvise.
In 2016, they previewed the "Sunday Drive / No Plans" cassingle (recorded at former drummer John Miller’s home studio), giving us - the listener - the first glimpse into the Movers’ newest modes. Two instrumental improvisations clocking in at just under 20 minutes that bring to mind names like Neu! and Ash Ra Tempel, as much as they do any number of American psychedelic acts of the 1960’s.
The band's sixth, eponymous album, Mountain Movers (released May 2017 on Chicago's Trouble In Mind), is bookended by two long-form jams with three perfect, crystalline pop songs sandwiched in between, mirroring both aspects of the band & representing the most fully realized recorded representation of the band's live show to date.
